Art & Market | Let’s Get Into Digital (Jul-Aug)

Nabila Giovanna W, Art and Market , July 15, 2022
Go on a virtual tour of ‘Forget Me, Forget Me Not’, Priyageetha Dia’s solo exhibition at Yeo Workshop, Gillman Barracks, Singapore. Curated by Anca Rajou, it shows the artist’s attempt to retell the stories of labouring bodies in colonial representations. Dia has pulled from several sources, from a publication printed in 1923 that documents the migration of Indian labourers to work in rubber plantations in Malaya to stock images of these places of work. By intervening in a range of mediums, from screen-printed works on latex to a CGI protagonist with female bodily attributes, the exhibition asks us not to forget history but to retell it as it happened. The virtual experience is presented by JS3D, which creates immersive 3D virtual tours, and offers a walkthrough of the exhibition, and close-up views of each artwork.

The exhibition is on show both at Yeo Workshop and virtually. The virtual exhibition is still available after the physical show ends. Click here to read more and visit the virtual tour.
