About the Author

Krystina Lyon is an art historian, collector and advocate for women artists in Southeast Asia. Following a three-decade career in brand development in the UK, Europe and Asia, she turned her focus to contemporary art, completing her MA in Asian Art Histories with distinction at Goldsmiths, University of London (in partnership with LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore) where her thesis explored the role of women’s art collectives mediating gendered narratives in Southeast Asia.

Based in Singapore for over twenty years, Krystina has been an active part of the region’s cultural landscape as a docent, lecturer and moderator. Her professional engagements include as a visiting lecturer at the University of the Philippines, moderating public and private discussions on the regional art ecosystem and contributing writing to platforms such as Art & Market. She has also presented and led tours of her private collection for institutions including the Art Galleries Association of Singapore and annual contemporary art fair SEA Focus.

Through her research, writing and collecting Krystina seeks to expand the visibility of Southeast Asian women artists in both regional and global discourse. You are Seen is her first book.
