Sajak No. 3 (The weight) comes from the Sajak series. In literal terms, Sajak is known as rhythmic sets of poetry, but according to the artist, whose works investigate the Malay semiotic, he is more interested in nuances than accuracy. Is it even possible to adequately translate thoughts in certain styles, methods and manners?

This work on paper started out as Fyerool Darma's attempt to write poetry in his mother tongue - the deep scratches with tools he found lying around in his studio indicate the creative process of trying to find the words and working between different languages.
