BRANDON TAY | What Not to Miss at the Singapore Biennale 2025!

The Artling, November 8, 2025

Returning for its 8th edition, the Singapore Biennale 2025 unfolds across the city from 31 October 2025 to 29 March 2026, gathering more than 80 artists and collectives from Singapore, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Organised by the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) and commissioned by the National Arts Council, this year’s Biennale is titled Pure Intention, a theme that calls for mindful encounters with art and the world around us.

This year’s edition extends beyond the museum to the everyday spaces of the city, spanning public installations, performances, immersive environments, film and more. The Biennale features over 100 artworks, including more than 30 new commissions, activating multiple zones across the city including the Civic District, Orchard Road, the Rail Corridor, historic housing estates like Tanglin Halt, strata malls such as those in Orchard, and the Singapore Art Museum at Tanjong Pagar Distripark. Together, these works prompt audiences to consider how intention shapes action, connection, and the possibilities of change.

Here is our selection of highlights from this year’s edition.
